Hastings Book Signing

It was a good time at Hastings Books, Music and More in Lake Havasu City.  The book signing was successful and I met a lot of nice people there. I even met a lovely lady with mermaid hair named Ashley. Her bluish locks indicated she might be interested in my mermaid book. Note the similarity with the book cover background color and her hair color. Thank you, Ashley, for stopping by, buying a book, and let me get a photo of you with your lovely hair.

It was the first time I promoted my third book, Legend of Fayre Sea, at a Hastings and I was eager to see how it would do. I wasn't disappointed. I did a special book event promotion: Buy any TWO books and get a free beaded book marker for FREE. These book markers sell for $7+tax when I am selling at craft fairs, but they were free for the book signing that day. A few people wanted to buy my beaded bookmarkers, but it was not allowed at the store. Nonetheless, I am working on adding a page here at my blog in order to sell my book markers along with my books all in one place.

I placed the dozen book markers I brought that day and placed them next to my treasure chest which is now used for holding misc baubles and candy. As you may recall, I used to put the Realmwalkers book in it for display. Now I have a cardboard display holder for all three books. It really helps keep the table organized and doesn't take up a lot of room on it.

Here is the spread for my Hastings Book Signing. It worked very well. I laid copies in front so that people could look over the books without disturbing those in the holder. You may also notice a white folder where I put several of my illustrations so that people could take a look at my art work. It saves a lot of time and wear on my books if the potential buyer wants to flip through the pages looking for the drawings. This may be something you may want to consider for your own illustrated novels. Happy marketing and keep on writing!
